I’ve tried to keep this simple, but some of the following includes technical terms. For your benefit, ‘the controller’ or ‘data controller’ is me, Mandy Lee, and the ‘data subject’ is anyone handing over data to me.
My own measures begin with acquiring a suitable level of consent on my opt-in forms. On these forms, you will see clearly that by subscribing to my mailing list, you are giving me consent not only (in certain cases) to send you free reading material, but also (in all cases) to send you occasional emails about new releases, competitions and other updates. I promise never to spam you! I also employ something called a ‘double opt-in’ via Mailchimp to make doubly sure you want to be on my list.
When you subscribe to any of my email lists, your name and email address are stored on a site called Mailchimp, which is GDPR compliant. The purpose of this storage is solely and exclusively for me to send you the occasional email (as outlined above). Other than storing your details on Mailchimp, I will never share your details with a third party. Nor will I ever use your details for any marketing, profiling or other analytical purposes.
You are completely free to unsubscribe from my lists at any point. However, you also have the right to request the data information I hold about you. And you have the right to request that this information is deleted. For this purpose, my contact information is below:

You have the opportunity on my website to subscribe to my mailing list. As already mentioned, the name and email address of the subscriber are stored exclusively for Mandy Lee’s use on Mailchimp, which is GDPR compliant. By registering on Mandy Lee’s mailing list, your email address, your chosen name, and the date and time of the registration are stored on Mailchimp. This data is not passed on to third parties unless there is a statutory obligation to pass on the data, or if the transfer serves the aim of criminal prosecution. Subscribers are free to change the personal data specified during the registration at any time, to unsubscribe, or to have the data completely deleted. In compliance with GDPR, I will, at any time, provide information upon request to you as to what personal data is stored about you. Mandylee.com offers users the possibility to leave individual comments on individual blog contributions on the site. A blog is a web-based, publicly-accessible portal, through which one or more people called bloggers or web-bloggers may post articles or write down thoughts in so-called blogposts. Blogposts may usually be commented by third parties.
If a visitor leaves a comment on a blog published on my website, the comments made by the contributor are also stored in the comments section of my dashboard on WordPress, as well as information on the date of the commentary and on the user’s name chosen by the data subject. In addition, the IP address assigned by the Internet service provider (ISP) to the contributor is also logged. This storage of the IP address takes place for security reasons, and in case the contributor violates the rights of third parties, or posts illegal content through a given comment. The storage of these personal data is, therefore, in my own interest, so that I can exculpate in the event of an infringement. This collected personal data will not be passed to third parties, unless such a transfer is required by law or serves the aim of the defence of the data controller.
Mandylee.com contains information that enables e-mail contact with me. If an individual contacts me by e-mail, the personal data transmitted by the data subject is automatically stored. Such personal data transmitted on a voluntary basis by a data subject to the data controller are stored for the purpose of processing or contacting the data subject. There is no transfer of this personal data to third parties.
The website Mandylee.com is a WordPress site. As such, it collects a series of general data and information when a data subject or automated system calls up the website. This general data and information are stored in the server log files. When using these general data and information, WordPress does not draw any conclusions about the data subject. Rather, WordPress analyses anonymously collected data and information statistically. The anonymous data of the server log files are stored separately from all personal data provided by a data subject.
The data controller shall process and store the personal data of the data subject only for the period necessary to achieve the purpose of storage, or as far as this is granted by the European legislator or other legislators in laws or regulations to which the controller is subject to. If the storage purpose is not applicable, or if a storage period prescribed by the European legislator or another competent legislator expires, the personal data will be erased in accordance with legal requirements.
